- Ch. Leoville Las Cases, St. Julien, Bordeaux, France Far and away my favorite Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Domaine de la Bongran, Macon - Clessé, Jean Thevenet, White Burgundy. This is our favorite Chardonnay to serve in our home for a "no-occasion" occasion, or a special event.
- Stonyridge Larose, Waiheke Island, Auckland, NZ.
- Veramonte Primus, from Chile. You have read about the rediscovery of the Carmenére grape in Chile, after thought to be extinct for over 90+ years. And this wine is one of the finest coming out of Chile made with a major percentage of this grape. (1998 - 85% Carmenére, 15% Cab) This is our everyday red to serve with beef.
- Clos du Marquis, the second wine of # 1. This is what we drink when we can't afford #1, its big brother. Yummy Cab.
- Shafer
- Shafer
- Shafer !!!! This vineyard in CA makes wines so good they have developed into cult wines. The Firebreak and Hillside Select Merlot are allocated, and usually sold by subscription directly from the winery, but if you keep a sharp eye out, or ask your retailer about the "stash" in the back room, you can find it. And the Chardonnay is a bargain and vastly under-rated. Grab it.
- Bedell Cupola from Long Island, NY. You will think you are drinking Ch. Petrus.
- Bedell Chardonnay also from Long Island, NY. This is as close to our favorite #2 as any wine made in America.
